As a result of a successful 150th anniversary fundraising campaign a new and purpose built sports pavilion was established. The School in Oxford approached the workshop to provide architectural lettering that would acknowledge the many and significant donors to this project. The brief included lettering carved directly into the new ashlar stonework of the building and associated lettering inside.
The lettering was designed to fit the existing stonework and provide an attractive point of interest across the front facade of the pavilion – visible from the playing fields. The inscription was carved in situ at a height carefully chosen for the boys aged between 8 and 13 years old.
Inside, glass plaques were used to complement the materials used in the build and to reflect the light airy space of the atrium foyer.
